Ankur Makanji

Senior Advisor, Employee Experience, Organizational Effectiveness, Nutrien

Ankur has been with Nutrien for 9 years and has varied experience working in Total Rewards, Global Mobility and Organizational Effectiveness. In his current role, Ankur supports Nutrien’s Employee Listening Strategy. Ankur recently led a Global Employee Engagement Survey in 2020 for Nutrien’s 27000 employees in Australia, North America, South America and Europe. In addition, Ankur implemented onboarding and exit surveys for Nutrien resulting in rich data on employee’s experience throughout their career with the company. As part of his work with Global Mobility, Ankur was recognized as a Global Mobility Rising Star of the Year in 2015 by Forum for Expatriate Management.

Ankur is a CPHR and holds a BSc (Hons) in International Business and Management and a MSc in Human Resources Management from Aston University in UK. In UK, Ankur has worked for Intel Corporation (UK), Tesco Plc, HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs) and Birmingham City Council in varied HR roles. Ankur has lived in India, UAE, UK before immigrating to Canada. He mentored newcomers to Canada through his work with Centre for Newcomers (Calgary). Ankur sat on the Board for CERC (Canadian Employee Relocation Council) as a Director from 2017-2020. Currently, Ankur volunteers with CPHR Alberta as an Assessor on their assessment committee.
